Action Analysis

Today I was criticized for not updating this blog since this summer. My response: none. I had no reason to leave this blog unattended for so long other than pure forgetfulness. So here is what I've been up to this year. It's a action analysis assignment, mine takes place in a school gymnasium, the action is a bully mercilessly throwing a dodge ball. I should be complete before the holidays. I'll post it if it isn't god awful.




Someone mentioned that my layout reminded them of a little film staring Bugs Bunny and Michael Jordan. That's right you've guessed it, it's none other than my pick for 1996's movie of the year Space Jam (I was 9yrs old) . God damn it, I need to watch this movie again. Soon!

You probably guesses that the last one is the one that does not belong. It was for an earlier idea that unfortunately got scraped. It was for the best.

Adventures at the Zoo

I work fairly close to the zoo now so I am planning to make a habit of visiting often to do some sketching. My first visit was this Monday. Whenever I visit the zoo I always go straight for the elephants, and this time was no different. After patiently waiting for the elephants to come out of hiding I was rewarded with the site of all five elephants out and about and enjoying their meal.

I was pretty far along in a sketch when a family came by to poke their nose in my sketchbook, I guess I'm use to this by now so I manage to keep working but I can still hear them talking about me in a foreign language. The mother came up to me and complemented my drawing, she then tells me "My son thought your drawing was the internet". I knew she meant an image OFF the internet and not that my drawing was actually the series of interconnected computer networks, but I couldn't help but to laugh a little bit. I thanked her for her kind words and continued to work.

Uploading problems...

*sigh*... I just spent the last half hour waiting for something to upload. It was an animation I did this year, but it just crashed and I give up easily. Maybe another time then. Anyways heres a doodle I did while waiting.

Schools Out!

Well, I'm done second year Animation and this is what I have to show for it. These are layouts I did for my story/layout class, it's a shot of the front door of the Alamo. The top one is the clean up and the bottom one is a tonal done in blue pencil on vellum.
And this is just a painting I did in photoshop, nothing to do with the Alamo.

A Dredge

Wow, sept 19 was my last post... I don't know what to say. It's not that I haven't been working, I just forget to scan work in when I'm done. Hopefully it wont be another four months before I post them. Anyways here's a painting I did this week, it's in Photoshop. I did it as a concept for an assignment in school. I'm pretty happy with it, too bad I'm no longer using a dredge in my story. (BTW a dredge is factory that extracts gold from lakes and rivers, funny thing is that the dredge in my picture is nowhere near water)
